LA RAMBLA, Los Angeles County — Residents of the La Rambla area who are 65 or older or have a qualifying disability may be eligible for Cityride, a transportation-assistance service administered by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
Although La Rambla is an unincorporated county area, LADOT’s official Cityride page specifically lists “La Rambla, Unincorporated Long Beach, West Carson” among mapped service zones. Eligibility depends on the actual home address, so applicants should verify that their residence falls inside the current service map rather than assume an entire ZIP code qualifies.
How the fare subsidy works
Cityride lets approved participants purchase $84 in fare value per quarter for $21, or $9 for low-income participants who qualify. That value can be used for certain Dial-A-Ride and licensed taxi trips, subject to individual fares, geographical limits and program restrictions. For example, the published Dial-A-Ride charge for a 1–10-mile solo trip is $4 in fare value, not necessarily $4 paid directly by the participant at boarding.
Participants must register and obtain an approved Cityride card. The city says Dial-A-Ride reservations are generally required in advance. Review the official website, maps and application before paying any fees; availability is not guaranteed. For service information, use the contacts listed in the Cityride guide.
